Three steps, then you forget it's there
Connect your calendars
Sign in with Google, or use the calendars already on your Mac: iCloud, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Outlook.com. Add as many accounts as you have.
A minute before, every screen
When a call is about to start, the alert covers every display, even over full-screen apps, with the meeting name and a live countdown.
Press Return to join
Return opens Meet, Zoom or Teams straight away. Esc dismisses it. Snooze gives you one more minute.
Hard to ignore, easy to act on
- Every display
It covers all your screens, including spaces with full-screen apps, so it finds you wherever you are.
- One button
The link comes from the invite itself, so Join goes straight to the right call.
- A minute more
Snooze brings it back in a minute. Back-to-back meetings show up together.
Know ahead which meetings will take over your screen
Today and tomorrow, one click away. A yellow sign means the alert will show; a grey one says why it won't. Change your mind for any meeting before it starts.
- Join from the menu
The next meeting sits at the top with its Join button, so you can hop in early.
- Skip this one
Running late on purpose, or already in the room? Skip a single meeting.
- Alert me anyway
An in-person meeting with no call link can still get the full-screen warning.
- Mute this series
A weekly meeting you only watch? Mute every occurrence at once.
Only the meetings that need you
All-day events, focus time and out-of-office blocks never trigger it. Everything else is your call.
No call link, no alert
Lunch and reminders stay quiet unless you turn this off.
Declined stays declined
Meetings you said no to don't take over your screen.
Skip one, or alert anyway
From the menu bar: skip a meeting, mute a series, or get warned about one your rules would skip.
Words you choose
Ignore titles with words like focus, lunch or OOO.
Pick your calendars
Your main calendar is on. Shared and team calendars are off until you want them.
Pause it
For an hour or for the rest of the day, from the menu bar.
Your calendars, whatever the invite uses
MeetingWarning reads Google Calendar directly and every calendar in the Mac's Calendar app. It finds the call link in the invite, so Join goes to the right place.

Questions
Which calendars does it work with?
Google Calendar directly, including Google Workspace, with as many accounts as you like. It can also use every calendar in the Mac's Calendar app: iCloud, Microsoft 365 and Exchange, Outlook.com, Yahoo, Fastmail and any CalDAV account you've added in System Settings → Internet Accounts. A meeting that shows up in two places is only shown once.
Does it work with Outlook and Microsoft Teams?
Yes, through the Calendar app: add your Microsoft account in System Settings → Internet Accounts, then turn on the Calendar app in MeetingWarning's Settings. Teams links in invites open with one click. A direct Outlook sign-in, for companies that block Internet Accounts, is planned.
Does it work with several screens?
Yes. The alert covers every connected display, and Join and Dismiss work from the main one.
What if I'm presenting or in a full-screen app?
It still appears, because that's the point. If you don't want it for a while, pause it from the menu bar for an hour or for the rest of the day.
Can I choose which meetings take over my screen?
Yes. The menu bar shows today's and tomorrow's meetings, each marked as will or won't alert, with the reason. Skip a single meeting, mute a repeating one, or choose Alert me anyway for one your rules would skip. Meetings without a call link, meetings you declined, focus time, out of office and all-day events are skipped by default.
Can I choose how early it shows up?
Yes: when the meeting starts, 30 seconds, 1, 2, 5 or 10 minutes before, or any custom time up to an hour.
Does MeetingWarning see what's in my meetings?
It reads the title, time, location, your response, who's invited, the notes and the call link, so it can decide whether to show the alert, open the right call and show the meeting's details when you ask. That stays on your Mac and is never sent to us or anyone else. Calendar access is read-only.
How much does it cost?
$5.99 once on the Mac App Store, with updates included. No subscription, no account. It needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
